Steve serves as the chairman of First Check Diagnostics LLC. a home diagnostic products company . He is responsible for the establishment of company’s strategic planning and direction.

Mr. Moak began his career, while in college with Duro Paper Bag, in operations. Mr. Moak held positions with increasing responsibility with Avon Products, NCR Corp., and Directel.

In 1989 Mr. Moak created ProMark One, a company that managed call centers for expanding bank and telecommunications companies. Under Mr. Moak’s leadership ProMark One expanded to a nationwide company.

In recognition of his management expertise, and the growth of ProMark One, Mr. Moak was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year award by Ernst and Young, in 1991. From 1993 until 1997, ProMark One was recognized as one of the 500 fastest growing private companies by Inc. Magazine.

In 1996, Mr. Moak sold ProMark One and in 1999 became chairman of the founding team of Synergy Solutions, a provider of call center solutions for large fortune 500 companies that now spans four states and employees close to 1,000.

In 2000, he and his wife Debbie founded notMyKid, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about prevalent youth and adolescent mental and behavioral health issues. Mr. Moak has traveled internationally speaking to parents and teens about his family’s story of substance abuse in order to raise aware of drug prevention.

In 2004, Mr. Moak purchased First Check, a California based home drug test company. This purchase decision was motivated by both his personal experience with drug testing his own child and from seeing other parents’ positive response and interest when speaking of his experiences. Mr. Moak saw the opportunity for home drug tests to be used as a prevention tool and a way he could further contribute to drug prevention efforts nationally.

Mr. Moak is also a founding member of Social Venture Partners, an organization committed to developing philanthropy and volunteerism to achieve positive social change in Maricopa County, a member of the United Way Foundation Board and a member of the Young Life Regional Advisory Committee. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1977 with a degree in Criminal Justice. In February 2007, First Check was sold to Inverness Medical Innovations, Inc., which has committed to continue First Check’s support of Project 7th Grade and its efforts to reduce drug use among today’s youth.

In 2006, Mr. Moak was appointed to the White House Advisory Commission on Drug-Free Communities Program.  The commission advises the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), which in conjunction with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) directs the Drug-Free Communities Support Program.

Mr. Moak and his wife Debbie reside in Phoenix. They have two sons ages 26 and 23. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, swimming, skiing and traveling.
